About the Project/Clinic:
AMI will assist in providing staffing to VA Medical Centers across the Nation upon request. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team in Montgomery, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of complex laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role requires strong analytical skills, adherence to quality standards, and collaboration with healthcare professionals across disciplines.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform a full range of clinical lab tests across multiple areas including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunohematology
Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments
Collect and process patient specimens, ensuring sample integrity Analyze, validate, and report lab results accurately and timely
Monitor quality control and take corrective action as needed
Recognize urgent/critical values and report them to providers promptly Maintain records and documentation per lab protocols
Collaborate with lab and clinical teams to support patient diagnosis and care
Participate in equipment validation and supply management
Provide phlebotomy services as needed The job duties are flexible and subject to change depending upon operational needs
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.??
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Education & Experience:
Board certified as MT, MLS, or CLS by NAACLS-accredited program
Current, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
Minimum 1 year of experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
