Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for public health and federal healthcare? AMI Expeditionary Healthcare (AMI) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS) Office of Public Health Support on a high-impact initiative designed to improve immunization coverage across IHS facilities nationwide.

In this part-time remote role, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for improving how providers and public health professionals use immunization data, reporting systems, and standardized processes to strengthen patient care.

Position Details

  • Location: Remote (U.S.)
  • Employment Type: Part-Time Consulting
  • Estimated Level of Effort: Approximately 400 hours over a 12-month base period
  • Project Start: August 2026

What You'll Do

As the Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery while serving as the primary liaison between the project team and the Government.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead overall project execution, including development and management of the Project Management Plan, integrated schedule, and risk register.
  • Plan and facilitate project kickoff meetings, recurring status meetings, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of public health, health informatics, process improvement, technical writing, and training professionals.
  • Ensure the successful and timely delivery of all contract deliverables, including systems analyses, workflow documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across IHS Headquarters, Area Offices, and Service Units.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities, internal reviews, comment resolution, and incorporation of Government feedback.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Identify project risks, monitor progress, and implement strategies to keep the project on schedule and within scope.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing complex healthcare, public health, health IT, or quality improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing project schedules, stakeholder engagement, deliverables, budgets, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS), tribal health organizations, or other federal healthcare agencies such as HHS, CDC, VA, or DHA.
  • Familiarity with federal healthcare performance reporting, including GPRA and clinical quality measures.
  • Experience leading virtual consulting teams on firm-fixed-price federal contracts.
