Environmental Services Technician (Weekend) – Healthcare Facility

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to support the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGVAMC) in Spokane, WA by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This weekend position plays a critical role in infection prevention by ensuring all assigned areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize restrooms, high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and patient/public areas using approved hospital-grade disinfectants.
  • Empty, sanitize, and reline trash receptacles throughout the facility while maintaining clean, odor-free waste collection areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in hallways, offices, elevators, stairwells, and other common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and professional appearance.
  • Perform routine office cleaning, including dusting, floor care, and waste removal while respecting personal workspaces and facility protocols.
  • Complete scheduled cleaning activities, document completed services, replenish supplies, and help maintain compliance with infection prevention and environmental services standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.??
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.?
  • Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process and US government background investigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, environmental services, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare, hospital, or medical facility environments preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and utilize custodial chemicals and disinfectants.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must work as a team member to improve safety culture and quality.?
  • ?Read and follow instructions. Demonstrate safe work behavior.
  • ?Must be able to lift 50 pounds.?
  • ?Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • ?Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently.

Schedule

  • Weekend Position (Saturday & Sunday)
  • 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 3:30 PM to Midnight
